On April 13, the National Development and Reform Commission issued a notice on the issuance of the "Key Tasks for New Urbanization and Urban-Rural Integration Development in 2021", proposing key tasks for new urbanization and Urban-Rural integration development in 2021.

We will increase the carrying capacity of city clusters and metropolitan areas

We will strengthen the ability of central cities to radiate and drive their surrounding areas, foster and develop modern metropolitan areas, and enhance the population and economic carrying capacity of urban clusters, so as to form a spatial dynamic system in which metropolitan areas lead urban clusters and urban clusters drive high-quality regional development.

We will improve the mechanism for integrated development of urban agglomerations.
